Oriental (1889)
A 10x8 film negative. A slightly distant port side view, taken from ahead of the beam, of the passenger/cargo liner Oriental (1889) at anchor in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. She has three yards on her foremast and an awning is rigged aft. Tilbury is in the background and the coast Guard Watch Vessel CGWV.28 (1847) is on shore on the extreme left. A copy of a photographic print produced from an original Gould glass plate negative which was broken and discarded c.1960.
