A whole plate negative. A slightly distant starboard near broadside view, taken from just abaft the beam, of the cable ship Recorder (1885) at moorings in Gravesend Reach, River Thames. Tilbury Fort Watergate is in the background and the land has a light covering of snow. Negatives numbers G1932, G1934 and G1938 were taken on the same occasion.
