The Royal Museums Greenwich (RMG) Community Access Scheme (CAS) is open to organisations in all 33 London boroughs that support people living in Greater London who often experience real or perceived barriers to visiting our sites.

Local councils, charities and community groups can apply for CAS tickets to bring groups of individuals and families who use their services to visit our sites.

Royal Museums Greenwich is dedicated to enriching people’s understanding of the sea, the exploration of space and Britain's role in world history. We want to engage audiences with our collections and the amazing stories of the sea, space, history and creativity. We are particularly keen to hear from community groups who would not normally visit our sites or see it as a place of interest for them.

What is the Community Access Scheme?

Special subsidised tickets for Cutty Sark on fixed dates throughout the week. Group visits are self-guided. CAS tickets are priced at £2 per person. We hope to add the Royal Observatory, Greenwich to the offer soon.

Visits to the National Maritime Museum and the Queen’s House are free. Please do check the sites’ opening hours before you visit

All organisations accepted to the Community Access Scheme are considered CAS Partners and must adhere to and agree to the terms of conditions of the scheme and ensure all CAS tickets are used by the groups of people they are intended for.

The contact person named on the application form will be considered as a ‘CAS Leader’.

How do we request tickets for a group visit?

If your organisation has been accepted to the scheme and is now a CAS Partner.

Please fill out a CAS Group Visit Request Form.

Our Bookings team will process your visit request and will be in touch to arrange payment. The preferred payment method is BACS.

All CAS Group visits must be pre-booked and pre-paid. CAS Partners are required to give at least seven working days’ notice of group visits.

Maximum of 30 tickets per CAS Partner per visit.

Visits are subject to availability. Visitor numbers are limited, and some dates and timeslots can sell out in advance.

CAS Group visit confirmations will be sent via email to CAS Partners.

CAS Group visit confirmation emails serve as your group ticket, separate e-tickets will not be issued after payment is received.

Group leaders must ensure that the group arrives together. On arrival, please report to the main visitor admission desk with your confirmation/order number. Our admission staff may ask group leaders for ID to identify individuals working for CAS Partners. Your group may need to wait outside while you are checked in.

Unfortunately, once payment is taken, we cannot refund or alter the cost for any unused/no longer needed tickets. Depending on availability, we would be happy to add to your booking, please email Bookings@rmg.co.uk before visits.

Do we need to renew yearly?

No, we will continually monitor and review all applications and visitation.

Is there anything else I need to know?

For safety reasons, wheelchair access spaces for Cutty Sark are limited to three visitors at any one time.

Cutty Sark is wheelchair accessible with lifts providing access to all levels of the ship. Some areas of the Main Deck are not wheelchair accessible, but virtual access is provided to these spaces.

The original ship structure restricts the size of the lift on board, but mobility scooters can be accommodated on board providing they fit in our lifts. Measurements for the lifts are included in the Cutty Sark access statement. No e-scooters or e-bikes are permitted on board as per our visitor regulations.

All Royal Museums Greenwich sites have accessible toilets, and our cafés and gift shops are wheelchair accessible. Due to the nature of our sites, there is limited step-free access to certain sections. Read our accessibility information to find out more about step-free access at each of our unique venues, and more detailed guidance about accessibility for a range of needs.

Make the most of your visit to Cutty Sark with a series of specially created audio experiences.

This is a pilot scheme. Royal Museums Greenwich may occasionally email CAS Partners to ask for feedback.

At the time of joining the scheme, CAS Partners must provide primary contact details to receive important information about their membership, and for any queries we may have in relation to their visit.

The primary contact for CAS Partners must be a working member of staff or a volunteer with a defined role at the organisation.

CAS Partners must notify Bookings@rmg.co.uk as soon as possible if their primary contact details change.
