To mark Shakespeare’s birthday, we are creating a collaborative drawing inspired by his famous play The Tempest. Set on a ship at sea, the play features storms, shipwrecks and stories of maritime adventure.
Come and draw your own sailing ship to be tossed about in a great stormy sea. Using watercolour pencils, transparent paper and glue, we will create a big collaborative collaged drawing. The workshops will be led by artist Nicole Mollett, practitioner in residence at Royal Museums Greenwich.
These free, drop-in sessions are suitable for all ages and abilities. The sessions will take place in the Group Space on the ground floor of the National Maritime Museum.
After taking part, why not head to our Maritime London gallery to see an edition of Shakespeare's First Folio on display? This year marks the 400th anniversary of the landmark text's publication.
Get ready for a day of culture, creativity and lots of artistic inspiration.
