As part of our Season of Play, we are running this free workshop for adults.

Set your inner child free by coming to play this summer! Play is not just for kids and is an active form of learning that unites the mind, body and spirit. Around the world, kite flying is synonymous with freedom, the outdoors, imagination and possibility.

Join our workshop with kite maker Ahmadzia Bakthyari, who will guide you through the process of kite making.

All materials are included and each attendee will take home their completed kite.

About Afghan kites

In Afghanistan, kite fliers of all ages come together to display the beautiful kites they have made and sometimes fly them in competitions. At this friendly adult workshop, participants will make and fly an Afghan kite of their own with Ahmadzia Bakthyari.

Ahmadzia is a London-based kite maker from Kunduz, northern Afghanistan.
