The Queen’s House is marking Women's History Month in style.

Whether you want to take part in themed tours and talks about amazing women or simply have fun following a trail, there are lots of experiences on offer.

The Queen's House Treasures Tour – Modern and Contemporary Art

7, 14, 21 and 27 March | 12.30pm-1.30pm 

Discover thought-provoking pieces of modern and contemporary art on display at the Queen’s House and learn about female artists such as Alberta Whittle (pictured), Christy Symington and Tania Kovats.

At the end of the tour, you will gain exclusive access to the balcony with views of Greenwich Park.

Tour information

  • Duration: 50-60 minutes.
  • Meeting point:Undercroft, located through the door between the curved exteriorstaircases. 
  • Prices: Tickets cost £5 for adults; £3.50 for students; £2.50 for children; free for Members.
  • Suitability:Suitable for adults.
  • Audio headsets:Youwill be provided with headphones and an audio headset, which allow you to clearly hear the guide and adjust the volume if required. The headphones and headset will be collected at the end of the tour. 
  • Tour size:Each tour has a maximum capacity of 25 people. 
  • Accessibility:The tour passes through several galleries located on different floors of the House. Step-free access is available via lift and access ramps. 
  • T&Cs: Please note children under the age of 12 are not allowed on the balcony due to health and safety reasons.

The Queen's House Treasures Tour – Female Figures

15 and 16 March | 12.30pm-1.30pm and 3.30pm-4.30pm

This brand-new guided tour uncovers hidden stories of female figures featured in the Queen’s House collection.

Join our passionate team and learn about the daughter of a famous admiral, ordinary women who were ahead of their time and powerful queens.

At the end of the tour, you will gain exclusive access to the balcony with views of Greenwich Park.

The ceilings of the Queen’s House

Discover more about Artemisia Gentileschi, one of the artists who created artworks for the ceilings of the Queen’s House. This former royal residence was at the cutting edge of art and architecture when it was completed for Queen Henrietta Maria in the 1630s (pictured). 

Feminist perspectives

15 and 16 March at 11.30am and 2.30pm

Engage with the history and collection of the Queen’s House from a feminist point of view. Learn about Queen Henrietta Maria's patronage of the arts during the 17th century, and think about the presence (or absence) of women in the artworks on display.

Queens Consort

15 March at 1.45pm and 16 March at 10.45am

Learn more about Queens Consort and their roles in the history of the Queen’s House.

Trail: Guess Who?

Throughout March | 10am - 5pm

Put your knowledge of the Queen’s House artworks to the test on this self-guided trail. 

Find the clues located throughout the House, and see if you can work out who the mystery female character is. Guess correctly, and you can collect a free sticker from the shop.
