Logbook of HMS SWALLOW.
Logbook of HMS SWALLOW, 6th October 1795 – 7th September 1797, kept by Commander George Fowke. The log includes the usual administrative remarks and weather observations and position. It also describes life on ship and details of captains duties such as punishment for sailors such as on 15 February 1796, F Doran punished for drunkeness and insolence with 12 lashes. It also makes note to the selling of William Davies and Abraham Fletcher's clothes as both were deceased 30 May 1790.
