Letters from John Short to Ella Ambrose July 1931.
All except the first letter (dated 2nd July) were written to Ambrose while she was staying at the Royal Mineral Hospital in Bath. Short was working and studying aboard HMT NEURALIA during this period. They have been seeing each other frequently up to this point, Ambrose often coming aboard ship to see her fiance. They now begin writing to each other nearly everyday, often in the form of daily diary-style entries, a habit which will continue for the next few years covering Short's Merchant Navy career.
