Printed facsimilie of a document showing how Lord Nelson became a midshipman on HMS SEAHORSE (1748), mounted on card. The note is from Mr Bentham of the Navy Office and sends compliments to Mr Kee, who he understands is agent to Mr Surridge, the master of the SEAHORSE. It seeks a recommendation in favour of Horatio Nelson, a young lad, nephew to Captain Maurice Suckling. The original document was dated 28 October 1773.
