Lecture headed Nevil Maskelyne Astronomer Royal, A lecture by Mervyn Herbert Nevil Story-Maskelyne. Written over older title of ‘Old Deeds and Papers from Basset Down, 1897’ Talk was for the Members of the Workers Educational Association. Not dated but after 1911 from context. as refers to Nevil Maskelyne being buried at Purton Churchyard just one hundered years ealier than his grandson whom so many of the W.E.A. knew at Basset Down. Also includes hand written extracts from publications in the Philosophical Transactions related to Schehallion.
