Letters from George Page to his mother Caroline Page while on board HMS TEAL at China Station, SS KHIRA and HMS KINSHA. Letters includes descriptions of the place George visited; note that George got a first in his Greenwich exam 17 October 1913; the Chinese giving a farewell show to the French Consul 8 May 1914; working 2 days in a German Hospital on 15 May 1914; on 1 August 1914 George describes meeting villages up river in China stating that they are polite and nice he also describes how a magistrate gave some boys a lecture for bathing near the gun boat only to catch them doing it again later; a letter dated 28 August 1914 stating that George has heard about the War breaking out and states how the Germans and French are reacting and he hopes the Page family are doing their part.
