Loose notes, drawings and sketches made by J.H. Boteler between 1804 and 1825, including: Frontispiece of Log of HMS ORONTES, kept by Boteler as a Mate betwen April and August 1815; a sketch of HMS FLYING FISH, tender to HMS ANTELOPE, the ship on which Boteler served under his uncle John Harvey, dated 1817; interesting sketches of Caribbiean flora and fauna from 1816-1818; Drawings of the storerooms of HMS RINGDOVE (1822) and HMS NORTHUMBERLAND (1823); a verse written while under the influence of fever, at Port Royal Hospital, Jamaica, between September 1823 and October 1823, by J.H. Boteler Lt. of the GLOUCESTER then commanding RENEGADE.
