Notebook used on HMS BUZZARD, 1852-1856.
Small leather bound notebook with a fastening clip, used by Dobbie while in command of the wooden paddle sloop HMS BUZZARD (1849) between 1852 and 1856. It includes tables showing gains and losses in time by the ship's chronometer and various charges of powder required to throw shot a specified distance.
