Receipts for expenses of the East India Company ship OCEAN (1788), covering voyages 1 to 4, during which William Fraser was principal managing owner. See item level records.

The OCEAN was built by Wells at Deptford and entered service for the East India Company in 1788. At the end of January 1797 she in a convoy of six East Indiamen that managed to disguise themselves as warships and bluff their way past a French squadron of six frigates in the Bali Strait. Very soon afterwards she was caught in a gale in the Java Sea and wrecked on a reef off the island of Kalaotoa.
