Certificate of appointment of Schuyler as fourth lieutenant on HMS BELLE ISLE, 1778; will made as second lieutenant on HMS PRUDENT, 1780.
Papers of Captain Robert Shuttleworth Sutton (1779-1842)
Birth certificate and letters appointing Sutton as mate and then commander of the packet PRINCE OF WALES in 1798 and 1807. Various papers relating to the action between the packet WINDSOR CASTLE and the French privateer LA GURIE in 1807, and the capture of the WINDSOR CASTLE by an American privateer in 1815.
Also various Schuyler and Sutton family letters.

Schuyler was appointed fourth lieutenant on HMS BELLE ISLE in 1778 and second lieutenant on HMS PRUDENT in 1780. He was a commander of packet ships operating out of Falmouth in Cornwall. Sutton was also a commander of packet ships, including the WINDSOR CASTLE.
