Letter from Greenwich Hospital addressed to Sir Thomas Thompson, enclosing a document, dating from 1744-1753, detailing instructions from the General Court of the Admiralty to the Treasurers of Greenwich Hospital on how hospital cash should be held and accounted for. Also included are notes on a letter by Sir John Colpoys dated 27 April 1805, who was honorary treasurer of Greenwich Hospital in 1805, in which he proposed that any cash holdings of Greenwich Hospital in excess of £10000 should be invested in annuities.
