Including a summary of the report of the chief umpire of the Naval Manoeuvres in 1913 and papers relating to Thursfield’s incorrect reporting of prices paid for vessels (the 'MIDLOTHIAN controversy') at Alexandria, Egypt, in 1915. A letter from the Director of Transports at the Admiralty regarding a grant of gratuities to the crew of the tug REVENGER for services rendered in towing between Egypt and the Persian Gulf, dated 23 September 1916, with a reply from Thursfield dated 26 September 1916. Also printed sheets with a farewell message from Vice-Admiral William C. Pakenham on HMS LION (1910), at the time of the dispersal of the Battle Cruiser Force in 1919.
