Herbert's account of his life during the years 1817 to 1819.
The first part of the account begins 5 August 1817 with a description of Eddystone Lighthouse, and continues until 3 September 1817. Then there is a short passage dated 31 May 1818 "Impregnable, Plymouth Harbour" with a quote from Lyson's Magna Britannia. The account continues with a description of Torquay, and a summary of events for the rest of 1818. After two blank pages the account begins again on "1 February", presumably 1819, and ends on 15 March that same year. The back of the volume contains some notes, possibly quiz questions and a poem dated 1817.
