Also includes a newspaper clipping regarding the history of the Victoria Cross and the award of it to Jack Foreman Mantle, who was in charge of the starboard pompom aboard HMS FOYLEBANK when it was attacked by enemy aircraft on 4th July 1940. Alongside this are two letters (one dated 17th August 1940) confirming his actions and the loss of HMS FOYLEBANK.
