Sick mess account book kept by Palmer on the screw frigate HMS TOPAZE (1858) on the Pacific station, 29 January 1866 to 16 August 1869; and on the armoured frigate HMS RESISTANCE (1861), guardship on the River Mersey, 18 February 1870 to 27 July 1872. It contains listings of payments and expenses.
