James Whitworth to his wife, HMS PORTIA, North Yarmouth, 6th June 1812. This is the third letter that he has written from this place, but still he has received no reply. Stresses that the only joy that he receives is through the letters that he receives from her. He cannot continue with this life, he grows weaker every day.
