James Whitworth to his wife, HMS PORTIA, North Yarmouth 9th June 1812. They are still waiting for the wind to change so they can depart, and yet he has still had no news from home. Fears that war with America would mean that he would be sent even further away. Is suffering from jaundice, and with a bad cold. Tells of the LEVANT sloop, impounded for smuggling.
