Documents relating a case in the Court of King's Bench involving the ship ZONG.
This case concerned the deaths of 132 enslaved African people, now referred to as the ZONG massacre. The volume includes a copy of Granville Sharp’s letter to the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty dated 2 July 1783, an Account of the Murder of the Enslaved on board the Zong, a transcript of court proceedings, and a letter to the Duke or Portland. It consists of one small bound vellum volume of c.140 pages.
