Bantam
An etching of the Indonesian city of Bantam, viewed from the sea. There is a single sailing vessel and a number of smaller boats on the water in the foreground. Several numbers, which presumably refer to a key (no longer with the image), may identify buildings and landmarks. The print has been cut almost to the platemark from an early eighteenth-century publication and there is text in French on the verso.
