Britanniae insulae quae nunc Angliae et Scotiae regna continet cum Hibernia adiacente nova descriptio…[1]
Map of the British Isles on two sheets. Apart from maps in editions of Ptolemy, this is the earliest known printed map of the British Isles. It has been attributed to George Lily, on account of the initials GLA (Georgius Lilius Anglicanus) included on the map. It is believed that Lily later took the plate to England, since in 1555 the map was reissued by Thomas Gemini, an instrument maker and engraver then working in London. There are other versions of this map at PBC3995(11) and PBC3995(12).
