On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Ashanti (1959) alongside North Corner Jetty in Portsmouth Dockyard during her September 1968 to April 1970 refit. The photographer is in the air electrical maintenance compartment between 68½ and 72 stations on the port side of 1 deck looking aft showing a work bench with drawers under and shelves above against the port bulkhead. In the port aft corner is a tall cupboard with a small key cabinet attached to it. A work bench and an electric fire are against the starboard bulkhead and a fire extinguisher is by the door.
