The photographer is in the sonar instrument room between 16 and 27½ stations on 3 deck looking to starboard and aft from the port side at 19 station showing the hatch over the hull outfit 15 (sonar type 170B) in the foreground and two banks of sonar cabinets are on the centreline abaft it. Alongside the hatch is a hand winch for hoisting and lowering the dome. Against the ship's side are the receiver/amplifier for the type 162 sonar and sonar cabinet No. 5.
