On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Nubian (1960) alongside South Railway Jetty in Portsmouth Dockyard prior to commissioning on 9 October 1962. The photographer is in the enclosed bridge between 40½ and 43½ stations on 01 deck looking aft from 41 station on the centreline showing the captain's high chair in the left foreground and the chart table with cupboards and drawers under, a navigator unit above and a visual display unit to port. Under the visual display unit is the ship's head marker unit. Against the aft bulkhead are a control panel, a cupboard, a telephone handset and microphone, a clock, the fleet formation board, a bookshelf, a fire extinguisher and a control panel.
