On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Nubian (1960) alongside South Railway Jetty in Portsmouth Dockyard prior to commissioning on 9 October 1962. The photographer is on the port side of 01 deck looking forward from 49 station showing liferaft and lifebuoy stowage against the ship's rail abaft the port bridge wing. The gastight hatch under the bridge wing is open to show cable reels. The canvas covered 10 inch signalling projector, the T.A.S. sight and the azimuth repeater can be seen on the outer screen of the bridge wing. The door to the enclosed bridge is open.
