On board the type 81 general purpose frigate HMS Nubian (1960) alongside South Railway Jetty in Portsmouth Dockyard prior to commissioning on 9 October 1962. The photographer is on the starboard side of 02 deck at 43 station looking to port and aft showing the MRS 3 director fitted with a Type 903 radar dish. In the right foreground is the aft starboard air lookout's sight. Abaft the director is the lattice support for the type 293 radar aerial and the base of the mainmast.
