Looking along a pontoon causeway which is alongside a passenger cruise liner berthed stern-on to the Compagnie Generale Transatlantique terminal quay in the north harbour at Algiers. Local traders are selling their wares on the pontoon. Berthed on the far side of the terminal on the left is the Compagnie de Navigation Mixte passenger/cargo ferry Djemila (1909) but only her funnel and masts are visible. Four and five storey buildings front the upper roadway.
