The town of Amalfi on the Amalfi Coast in the Bay of Salerno, Italy, looking east.

The town and waterfront of Amalfi from the lower slopes of the cliffside at the west end of Amalfi on the Amalfi Coast, Bay of Salerno, Italy, looking east. A long stone breakwater is in the foreground and beyond it on the waterfront are small boats, boathouses and beach huts. In the centre of the picture on the promenade is the monument to Flavio Gioia on its original pedestal and near it is a short stone breakwater with a single masted, lateen sailed vessel alongside it. A circular stone tower is on the promenade in the distance with the Hotel Luna Convento next to it. The Torre del Ziro is on top of the cliff.
