The south corner of the harbour at Bahia, Brazil, taken from the quayside looking north showing a number of single masted, lateen rigged sailing vessels. The two boats in the foreground are deeply laden with earthenware pots of various designs and sizes. In the left background beyond the quay wall is the Sao Marcelo Fort. Warehouse number 1 and a two storey building with a central tower are in the right background. This image is very similar to negative number P90423 which is known to have been taken in the period 1948-1949.
