The south end of the port at Bahia, Brazil, from on board the passenger cruise ship Gripsholm (1925)

The south end of the port at Bahia, Brazil. The photographer is on board the passenger cruise ship Gripsholm (1925) near lifeboat davits looking south-east showing the Forte Sao Marcelo in the right foreground. The buildings in Bahia are slightly out of focus but on the left is the Mercado Modelo with the Elevador Lacerta beyond it. Just to the left of centre, partly obscured by a rope, is the Basílica Santuário Nossa Senhora da Conceição da Praia.
