A port quarter view of a motor lifeboat from the passenger and cruise ship Kungsholm (1928) under way leaving the landing steps on the south side of the Careenage, Bridgetown, Barbados. Four crew are in the lifeboat. Passenger motor launches are alongside The Wharf Road and the premises of the West India Oil Company, the Custom House and T.S. Garraway & Co. Ltd front The Wharf Road. The stern of a schooner is near to Blackwoods Screw Dock entrance on the right of the picture. Rowing boats are moored in midstream and some of them have the name of the owner and a port number on the transom.
