A port quarter view of a motor lifeboat from the passenger and cruise ship Kungsholm (1928) under way leaving the landing steps on the south side of the Careenage, Bridgetown, Barbados. Four crew are in the lifeboat. Two 2 masted schooners are alongside The Wharf Road and the premises of the Custom House and T.S. Garraway & Co. Ltd front The Wharf Road. The bow of a schooner high and dry in Blackwoods Screw Dock is on the right of the picture and a 2 masted schooner with timber ports in the bow is berthed alongside the wall next to the dock.. Rowing boats are in the harbour and some of them have the name of the owner and a port number on the transom.
