A starboard side view, taken from just abaft the beam, of a British ship's motor lifeboat approaching the landing steps in the Careenage at Bridgetown, Barbados. The lifeboat is carrying a number of tourists and has a crew of three or four. The photographer is looking north from the south side of the harbour showing two 2 masted schooners alongside the wharves on the north side. The Custom House is just to the left of centre on The Wharf Road.
