The floating market and the Waaigat in the Punda district at Willemstad, Curacao. The photographer is on the north side of the Waaigat looking south-south-east showing six single-masted sailing craft berthed alongside the quay on the south side of the Waaigat. These boats all have awnings rigged above their decks and are part of the floating market. The stern of the schooner Amor De Dios (fl. 1930) is alongside the north side of the Waaigat. One of the buildings on the quayside has a projecting sign which includes the names of The Netherlands Steamship Co and the Koninklijke Nederlandsche Stoomboat Maats.
