A dead cat displayed on board HMS Emerald (1920)
A photograph of a dead cat hung up by its left back leg from a pillar on board the light cruiser HMS Emerald (1920). String has been tied around the base of its tail and around the head to keep the head up, making the photograph look as though the cat is jumping down. The photograph has been glued in upside down.
The print is captioned: 'Tiger cat', although these were only native to Central and South Amercia. It may be a Leopard Cat, which are to be found in the South, Southeast and East Asia.
