The harbour at Hammerfest, Norway. The photographer is looking south-west showing a large number of motor fishing vessels, rowing boats, small lighters and a small steamship packed into the harbour. One of the fioshing vessels has the registration F.51.H. Two of the buildings on the quay are occupied by Feddersen & Nissen and beyond them is the parish church. The town of Hammerfest was totally destroyed by German forces in early 1945 and none of the buildings in this photograph survived.
