The harbour at Hammerfest, Norway.

The harbour at Hammerfest, Norway. The photographer is looking east showing a few motor fishing vessels, the Norwegian State lighthouse and buoy tender Hekkingen (1913) and an unidentified Det Bergenske Dampskibsselskabet passenger/cargo steamer. St. Michael's Church is on the right and the Sadlen is in the right background. The town of Hammerfest was totally destroyed by German forces in early 1945 and none of the buildings in this photograph survived.
