The passenger cruise ship Franconia (1923) in the harbour at Hammerfest, Norway.
A distant starboard quarter view of the passenger cruise ship Franconia (1923) at anchor in the harbour at Hammerfest, Norway. The ship is in all white livery, has mooring lines out astern and her starboard anchor is deployed. The photographer is looking north from the lower slopes of the Sadlen over the roofs of the town showing a number of motor fishing vessels in the inner part of the harbour. All of the buildings are constructed of timber. The town of Hammerfest was totally destroyed by German forces in early 1945 and none of the buildings in this photograph survived.
