The eastern side of the harbour at Hammerfest, Norway.

The eastern side of the harbour at Hammerfest, Norway. The photographer is looking north-east across the harbour showing a number of motor fishing vessels, including one registered T.90.LK, and other small craft. Warehouses front the harbour and one has the name I. Austad on the side. All of the buildings are of timber construction. The northern mountains of Klavo, with some snow near the summit, are in the background. The town of Hammerfest was totally destroyed by German forces in early 1945 and none of the buildings in this photograph survived.
