The east side of the harbour at Hammerfest, Norway.

The east side of the harbour at Hammerfest, Norway. The photographer is looking north-north-east from the quayside showing motor fishing vessels and two small steamships moored alongside the quay. The nearest of the fishing vessels is registered F.28.KD and is possibly named Morin. Wooden built warehouses front the harbour including one occupied by M. Gabrielson Traelast. The town of Hammerfest was totally destroyed by German forces in early 1945 and none of the buildings in this photograph survived. The northern mountains of Klavo are in the background.
