The market at the north end of the South Harbour at Helsingfors, Finland. The market is in the square between the water and the Pohjoisesplanadi. The photographer is looking east-north-east from the west side of the square showing a number of boats moored stern-on to the quay from which traders are selling their wares including potted plants and fish. The market square is full of handcarts, horse drawn carts, motor lorries, motor cars, stalls and people. In the background is the Uspenskin Cathedral.
