Ships Cover for HMS Basilisk (1889) and HMS Beagle (1889)
Ships Cover for the Beagle class steel screw sloops HMS Basilisk (1889) and HMS Beagle (1889). The documentation mainly relates to statements of dimensions and weights, cost estimates, stability calculations, reports of vessel performances at sea and crew complement. The earliest papers commence in December 1887 and ends in April 1905 when both ships were put up for sale. The similarity of this class to the preceding Nymphes means that much of the data in Cover 111 will be relevant to this class.
