Ships Cover for River class destroyers (1903-1905)
Ships Cover for the River class destroyers (1903-1905). The documentation mainly comprises stability claculations, reports of steam, manoeuvreing, watertight compartment and equipment trials, details of ships fittings and equipment, some details of proposed alterations, vessel condition reports, and papers on cementing and below-waterline paint scheme. The Cover also includes a report on the passage of six members of the class from Colombo [Sri Lanka] to Singapore in June 1905. The earliest documents date from February 1904 and the last from January 1912. Ships Cover 200 continues some of the design discussions initiated in this Cover, but with a view to improving on the River class.
