Ships Cover for Adventure, Forward, Pathfinder and Sentinel class scout cruisers (1904-1905)
Ships Cover for the scout cruisers HMS Adventure (1904), HMS Attentive (1904), HMS Foresight (1904), HMS Forward (1904), HMS Pathfinder (1904), HMS Patrol (1904), HMS Sentinel (1904) and HMS Skirmisher (1905). The documentation mainly comprises discussion papers relating to the ideal armament in terms of firepower and stability, details of ships' fittings, equipment and stores, documents relating to structural details, detailed trials reports, correspondence concerning proposed alterations and changes implemented, statements of dimensions and estimates of weights, correspondence with the contractors and stability calculations. The earliest papers date from September 1903 when the designs were being finalised and the last from March 1906, by which time all eight sips were in commission.
