The Sliema ferry steamer pier at Valletta in Marsamxetto Harbour, Malta.

The Sliema ferry steamer pier at Valletta in Marsamxetto Harbour, Malta. The photographer is looking west showing the covered pier and floating pontoon at the foot of St. Andrew's Bastion and ferry steamer No. 4 is alongside the pontoon which has a sign on it advertising Dewar's Whiskey. Beyond St. Andrew's Bastion are a cargo ship and a passenger/cargo ship at moorings, both seen from dead ahead. A Royal Navy Moor class mooring vessel, seen from off her starboard beam, is in the harbour. A large building is on Manoel Island on the right. The land in the background is almost completely undeveloped except for a small building at the water's edge with the name 'Simonds' on it.
