The northern residential district of the city of Mitylene, Lesbos Island, Greece. The photographer is looking west-by-north from the north end of the castle fortress showing single masted fishing boats at anchor offshore and small rowing boats close to the beach. Houses of a similar design are stepped up the slope of the hill in the background. The negative is showing signs of reticulation but a scan made in May 2019 is available.
